The Marmotte Granfondo Alpes is one of Europe’s most iconic cycling challenges: a legendary one-day granfondo through the heart of the French Alps. Starting in Bourg d’Oisans and finishing at the top of Alpe d’Huez, the event brings together riders from all over the world for an unforgettable day of endurance, climbing and Alpine scenery.
The route covers 177 kilometres and 5,000 metres of elevation gain, taking cyclists over some of the most famous climbs in French cycling: the Col du Glandon, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier, Col du Lautaret and the final ascent of Alpe d’Huez. It is a demanding course, made for riders who want to test themselves on roads shaped by cycling history.
More than a race, the Marmotte Granfondo Alpes is a personal challenge. Some riders come to chase a time, others simply to reach the finish line, but every participant shares the same experience: the tension of the early start, the effort of the high mountains, the atmosphere of the peloton and the pride of becoming a finisher on one of cycling’s great stages.
